Chino, a deaf working-class Cuban, struggles to support his wife and small children. His chance for a better future arrives when he meets Jose, a Mexican who falls in love with him and promises him a better life and a job abroad. The film draws us into their bizarre triangle, as many a discussion take place, visas are being arranged, and plans develop and change. While Chino's wife sees her husband's gay affair as an opportunity for a better life for her children, Jose is having doubts whether his lover's actions are motivated by affection, or just financial need. Regarding Chino himself, his impenetrable face and questionable motives provide a fascinating and deeply challenging experience. (Febiofest)
