This is another rather darker romance about a boy who has an unpleasant but not contagious skin disease, about how his mother wants to keep him with her, but then how he finally finds freedom because of a girl who hasn't had it easy in her life either. Who does have it easy, right? In the end, he has to struggle a bit with his dark side, but it's not exactly a battle of life and death.
