Barrio Tales is an attempt to show that it's possible to make good horror films even with Mexicans. I might believe that, but Barrio Tales is certainly not proof of that. In terms of plot, it's very straightforward, and at times, you can see that it's quite amateurish; unfortunately, the screenwriter's narrative talent didn't shine through either. Tolerable yes, but I really don't know why a sequel was made. ()
