Peaky Blinders

I'm giving Season 1 five stars, but it’s only because I'm turning a blind eye to some major flaws. The creators seemed to have struggled a little with the passage of time (Ada's pregnancy), but the biggest problem for me was the lack of violence. I doubt that you could just talk your way out of a problem in 1919 England. I think that if someone decides to make a series about gangs, they can’t just avoid violence, and if they do, it ends up looking weird. Anyway, Cillian Murphy sure can stare daggers, I wouldn't want to get in a stare off with him. (06.08.2018)

Red Right Hand immediately at the opening credits and I was already trembling with joy. England, 1919 and the cast pleased me, even before the episode really started, I suspected a five-star rating. However... The plot, screenplay, performances, and dialogues were excellent but expected (and inevitable) violence didn't come until Inspector Campbell, which unpleasantly surprised me. I am currently very much enjoying the story, but the creators inexplicably save on action, it's all gangs here, but when it comes to violence, usually the police led by Inspector Campbell are involved, which is really strange. It seems that the creators have opted for a path of tactics, intrigue, and manipulation. Aunt Polly has started to really interest me, I hope it lasts for her. (05.08.2018)

For the third episode, I added some rating, another dead person is indeed attributed to Inspector Campbell and his team, but at the races, there was also some representation of my disliked minority, so I expect improvement in the action aspect in the next episodes and the fifth star is actually like a backup. I think I finally understand, the biggest killer is undoubtedly Inspector Campbell, who, unlike the gangsters, has added another notch to his belt, while Thomas Shelby behaves like an experienced ruler following the divide and conquer formula, choosing strategically advantageous marriage instead of violence. I'm enjoying it more and more, but I would really welcome a larger portion of action. (05.08.2018)

Sometimes I criticize movies and series for having too much violence that doesn't contribute to the story at all, with Peaky Blinders I have the exact opposite feeling, a proper dose of violence would give the series the missing juice. However, I still rate it with a full number of stars because I simply enjoy this matter. (06.08.2018)

I would rate the final episode with five stars, but I was really annoyed by the way the creators messed up the first proper clash between the gangs that was building up. This is how I would probably feel if someone stole my wallet and then smugly laughed at me. Anyway, it's still true that I'm looking forward to watching the next season. (06.08.2018)

The second season was significantly weaker than the previous one. The individual episodes always contained one or two really good scenes, but then they started losing pace. I also felt like the creators didn’t come up with anything new. It was basically the same thing as in Season 1, only with different adversaries. What I appreciated was the season finale and the fantastic Alfie Solomons played by Tom Hardy. 4*- (19.09.2018)

I didn't expect anything great from the first episode of the second season, and I did well. It was a traditional slow start that should prepare me for what will happen in the new series. In this regard, the creators fulfilled their task, I was just a little disappointed that they didn't come up with anything new, apparently only the enemies of the main gang are changing. 4* (18.09.2018)

Okay, I took the first episode as an introduction, but from the second part, I expected something more than a modified version of "The Postman Rings Twice" intersected with a real estate agency. I wasn't particularly entertained until Tom Hardy appeared as the boss of the Jewish gang, so it was quite disappointing. (18.09.2018)

The third episode was still able to entertain me, the recruitment of new bakers was great and I must also appreciate the realistically-looking slicing. The auction unexpectedly caught my attention as well, if I knew how these matters conclude, it could become my favorite entertainment. (18.09.2018)

But yeah, this time it went quite well. As I observe, the gang should either change their approach to the survivors or try harder so that people don't die unnecessarily, otherwise they could go bankrupt. The situation in London promises a nice action-packed development, I hope everything doesn't just get resolved at the table again. (18.09.2018)

This time, the creators really managed to annoy me. The episode started in such a way that I expected to be blown away, but then came the change, the plot disappeared into nowhere, and a larger part of the episode was boring because I wasn't buying the arrangement of women into Shelby's harem. Oh glory, the final episode of the second season finally broke through the bitterness that lingered with me after the previous episode. Alfie Solomons would definitely not know who his friend was at the moment if he hadn't written it down, and I really enjoyed the events in Epsom. This is how it should have been the whole time, fun and no boredom. (19.09.2018)

I liked Season 3 as a whole more than the previous one despite the terrible opening episode. It took me a while to get used to the change of setting. Eventually, I did, as all the characters were still major scumbags. The individual episodes seemed more balanced compared to the second season. The main villain was a priest, which I greatly appreciated. Although the women in the Shelby family got on my nerves towards the end, they sure did stir up the relationship between the brothers. So it was a tragic experience, the first seven minutes were taken up by the wedding ceremony, which was terribly boring, but even after that, there was no significant improvement. I had a feeling that the creators decided to test the endurance of loyal viewers, well, hopefully they didn't go too far. So far, it was clearly the worst episode of the entire series. (19.09.2018)

I really don't know what to think about it, I had the impression that the second episode was filmed by a completely different team (starting with the screenwriter). This time I saw Peaky Blinders again, which I was used to from the first season. The episode did not lack a quality atmosphere, tension or action, so it once again raised my hopes for the quality of the next episodes. (19.09.2018)

In the third episode, the creators achieved a pretty solid result, all the plot twists were interesting, only Tommy's journey to Wales seemed a bit unnecessary to me. I was much more intrigued by the resolution of the "Changretta" case and the pressure on the factory leader in the car factory. (20.09.2018)

I would gladly rate it higher, if it wasn't for several issues that bothered me. I was disappointed with Aunt Polly for the first time, Saint Linda is a complete disaster for me (Dušíny didn't like it) and once again, one was found who couldn't resist Tommy, oh well, poor thing, as if he didn't have enough worries already... However, I was very satisfied otherwise, the plot with the delivery of weapons is pleasantly complicated. (20.09.2018)

If the creators didn't get carried away by Russian orgies, I would rate it easily with five pieces. However, this passage was very boring and unnecessarily long. Again, Alfie Solomons appeared on the scene and I really enjoyed it again. All the plots are nicely prepared before the final episode. (21.09.2018)
