Sinopsis(1)

In 1981, director Ales Lowak began filming a documentary film with Burian when the painter died unexpectedly. The movie offers a view on Burian's creation and scientific preparation that preceded the emergence of works of art. His work, which combines scientific knowledge with artistic talent, can be considered as stream of imaginative realism. Before the painting itself, Burian devoted a lot of time to technical preparation and images were sketched in details at first. He consulted his findings with eminent palaeontologists and compositions were also thought out by scientists from particular disciplines such as zoology, geology or anatomy. His art reconstructions of extinct fauna, flora and prehistoric people contributed uniquely to the popularization of palaeontology throughout the world. (Academia Film Olomouc)
