Sinopsis(1)

In 2012, popular British writer Terry Pratchett decided to undertake his last adventure while his health still allowed it. After eighteen years, he returned to Borneo to once again see wild orangutans, which are on the verge of extinction. The main cause of the extinction of these rare apes is the destruction of their natural environment. Life-giving rainforests are logged on a massive scale and replaced with oil palm plantations. Pratchett talks about these alarming changes with the president of the Orangutan Foundation, among others. Accompanied by his friend and assistant Rob Wilkins, he then sets out into the depths of the jungle where he searches for the former king of the Bornean orangutans. At the time of Pratchett's second journey to Borneo he was already suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and this expedition was a challenge through which he showed his indomitable will and determination. The writer succumbed to the insidious disease this March. (Academia Film Olomouc)
