The scent of nectar lures pollinators, who in turn assist with plant reproduction. They carry pollen to other plants and pass on new pollen. Nectar, however, is also welcome nourishment for other species of animals. To obtain it, insects are willing to steal. In this computer-animated documentary, a bee is the thief. The bee bites through a blossom with its mandibles to gain easier access to the treasure hidden in the blossom’s interior. Stealing is something completely common in nature and this “human” misconduct has been around for millions of years. (Academia Film Olomouc)
