Strong performances that are perfectly suited for the theatre and should have stayed there. The medium of film doesn't give anything extra to the story, which is a great pity. Ian McKellen and Anthony Hopkins, but also Emily Watson would be great on stage and you would feel much better about them because you would be closer to them. As it is, it's good acting, but that’s not quite enough. ()
