A brutal alliance was formed out of necessity, instantly shifting the balance of power and changing Dr. Gilbert's life. Mr. Hall was called back from his exile, and Mafee was really entertaining. Plus, there were plenty of intrigues and manipulations, which I absolutely love.

Complete victory in a very shaky and not very realistic way. It smacks a bit of cheap serial theatricality like those second rate shows on Hallmark, but even so, there are bright, really impressive authentic moments among the would-be elaborate acting.
