Na Mars

  • inglés To Mars (título del festival)

Sinopsis(1)

In recent years, Mars has been talked about more and more as the destination the population of Earth will relocate to in the future. NASA expects the first manned mission, which will last a year and a half, to take place in the 2030s. In 2010, the Mars One organization introduced the concept of a mission to Mars with what is essentially a one-way ticket – which is why there are experiments being planned and carried out already, attempting to simulate life on the Red Planet as closely as possible for the mission participants. In February 2014, a seven-member international crew took part in an experiment carried out at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah. The topography of this inland state of the USA resembles that of the environment on Mars. The task of Crew 135, whose life in the base is the subject of this documentary, was to analyse and improve the station and to perform topographical monitoring and research. The participants in this mission worked in conditions resembling those on Mars. What would be the most significant problems for the various crew members during a real-life mission? What did this experiment teach them? (Academia Film Olomouc)
