The Little Things

When you turn fourteen and nobody pays any attention to the fact, that's pretty sad in itself. This is exactly what happens to George, whose mother doesn't show up on her birthday of all days. Left to her own devices and without any money, it is Tama, the six-year-old boy next door of all people, who tries to cheer her up. He just won't give up. Touched by his perseverance, George allows her admirer's warm-heartedness to infect her. After all, it's the little things that count. (Berlinale)
