Sinopsis(1)

The Australian anthropologist Niobe Thompson reveals new insights into the migration of our ancestors through the great terrestrial deserts in the second episode of his three-part documentary cycle The Great Human Odyssey. How did they survive the diseases they encountered in these territories? How did they adapt to the variety of environments from the tropical forests of East Asia to Arctic winters? On his journey through the Bedouin desert, Thompson presents the paleoanthropologist Hans-Peter Uerpmann and his excavations from Jebel Faya in the United Arab Emirates that brought revolutionary information about periods during which our ancestors wandered the planet. With the help of archaeologist Nic Conrad, Thompson studies the first manifestations of religious rituals that he describes using the analysis of figurative art. The conclusion of this episode is dedicated to a unique tribe that was able to resist endemic diseases, such as malaria among others. (Academia Film Olomouc)
