This offbeat comedy tells the story of a perfection-obsessed garbage inspector, Hansjörg, who falls for the wrong girl - Lily, a charming waitress and a compulsive hoarder who is filling her tiny apartment with tons of garbage and junk. Hansjörg Stähli is a garbage inspector in a picturesque small town who meticulously guards the law and enforces it upon other people. He is looking for an unknown Litterer who has been illegally dumping garbage bags all over town for weeks. Privately Hansjörg is an introvert person with a secret crush on the waitress Lily Frei. Hansjörg's quiet life changes completely, when he discovers that the secret Litterer who's been troubling him for weeks is in fact Lily's daughter Emma. Out of love for her mother he lets the girl go which causes her relieved mother Lily to smile at him for the first time. Encouraged by her attention, the garbage inspector starts to court Lily but without success. What he doesn't know is, Emma started littering from necessity. The Swiss are real experts in weird comedies. One time it is about a family at the airport, another time it’s about rookies in the army and every time it is more or less fine, but the feeling of weirdness is still hanging around. After watching this film, I cannot shake off the feeling that it again shows the mentality of this nation. It does not offend, it does not make you enthusiastic about it, at times it is quite entertaining but still with the feeling that something about this movie is not quite right. Three stars are just as appropriate for this film as for possibly all Swiss comedies I’ve seen so far.
