Dirigida por el célebre realizador de video-clips Steve Barron, se trata de la adaptación de la popular "Trilogía de Corfú", obra autobiográfica del naturalista, zoólogo y presentador de televisión Gerald Durrell, que recuerda los años en los que, siendo niño, junto a su familia, se mudó a la isla griega de Corfú procedente de Bournemouth para iniciar una nueva vida. Acostumbrados a una vida acomodada, los Durrell tuvieron que hacer frente a su nueva situación en un hogar que por no tener, no tenía ni electricidad y en un país que en nada se parecía a su añorada Inglaterra. A pleasant environment, pleasant characters and a story about a family that decided to move from England, throw everything behind and start a new life in a place where no one cares about how much money they have, but how pure their soul is. Sometimes the episodes are a bit weaker, sometimes more serious for a change, but here and there I really wholeheartedly laughed. After the first season, I hope that this show will keep this up and will continue at a similar pace in the coming years. I think that this story about a relaxed life on Corfu could be here for the long run.
