Sinopsis(1)

Is it a competition of the quickest and most cunning or the largest and most skilful? Every contest has a winner and a loser and this also applies to competing animal species in the wild. Surprisingly, it is the predators who usually lose out in the battle of the hunt. No matter if it is the fastest animal in the world – the cheetah, who conceals itself from a lone impala, or the biggest – the blue whale, which is capable of drawing in its own weight in water in one go, approximately 200 tons. Predators' strategies naturally differ, and they are not always based on speed of movement. Darwin's bark spider, which can mainly be found in the rain forests, takes its time; its weapon is a 25-metre long thread adorned with spider webs suspended above a river. The last few years have not been easy for polar bears either. The melting of icebergs has resulted in a lack of seals resting on their surface. This fascinating 3D documentary reveals the detailed preparations and struggle for survival of these strong animals. (Academia Film Olomouc)
