The basic story of Sign does not bring anything new, but its musical rendition and especially the atypical communication between the characters make the film stand out above other, thematically similar pieces. On one side is the hearing Ben, on the other is the mute Aaron - you could almost say they are from different "sensory" worlds, yet they share the joys and sorrows of the other couples. Despite the almost total absence of words, Sign has its own narrative value and manages to appeal with its honestly told, if slightly clichéd, story.
