Stephan Eicher plays with the image of the gypsy, he senses his Yeniche roots. The trail leads to the Grisons Alps, to the families that once immigrated there and their legendary dance music. An unknown music tradition lives on in these Yeniche families. It characterizes Swiss popular music, tends to Blues, is a brilliant chanson or rebellious punk. The film also portrays the story of discrimination and persecution that silenced many musicians. (Locarno Festival)
