Octave, an 80-year-old man, returns to his childhood property in the country to sell it. As he wanders through the dusty rooms, Octave re-lives scenes from his past, while however retaining the physical aspect of an elderly man: The rowdy meals with his brother and sisters, the children's pranks, his first childhood love, Ana, left behind one summer day on a station platform during the Second World War, the maid that he used to watch through the keyhole, the lessons in life from his musician father, and the suicide of his painter mother that he finally comes to terms with while discovering her paintings left under the dust. Memories, from the most futile to the gravest... Long-forgotten memories that rise from the past, as if anticipating imminent death.
