Jacques es un reportero de un periódico francés. Un día recibe una misteriosa llamada telefónica del Vaticano. En una pequeña ciudad en el sureste de Francia, una niña de 18 años afirma haber sido testigo de una aparición de la Virgen María. El rumor se ha extendido rápidamente y el fenómeno ha tomado tal magnitud que miles de peregrinos acuden ahora al lugar de las supuestas apariciones. Jacques, que no tiene nada que ver con este mundo, acepta formar parte de una comisión de investigación, encargada por el propio Vaticano, con el fin de arrojar luz sobre estos hechos. (VerCine)

The aching desire to surrender to the spiritual. Especially in old age, when many of the questions raised are in danger of remaining unanswered forever. A heavy adult (maybe a little too much so) film about big themes without big pictures.

It took me a while to get into this, but I still have to admit that director Xavier Giannoli has come out with an interesting movie about faith that has the power to impress even the non-believers. I know what I'm talking about because I'm an atheist. Although many questions remain unanswered, I do admit the possibility of the existence of something higher than our visible and sense-perceptible world. (75%)
