Vasyl Seredyuk is a conservative head of district culture club. His greatest pride is his oldest daughter Katrusya, a Sorbonne student, who tells him she’s about to get married to François, a French heart surgeon. For Vasyl, this means not just reintegration but also a trump card in his permanent controversy with neighbor Taras about who is the bigger patriot. But instead of a son-in-law, Katrusya delivers something unexpected… a Frenchman of African origin. Now Serеdyuk cannot sleep, bothered with a traditional Ukrainian concern, “what will the people say?” And he decides to do everything to liberate his daughter from “black captivity.” (FILM.UA Group)
