Long Time No Sea

A pair of new shoes, a cross-sea competition, and a tribesman of oceans interweave a story of a child's emotional courage in pursuit of dreams in Long Time No Sea. Inspired by the personal experiences of Director Heather Tsui and her involvement with the the Yami people, an aboriginal tribe of Taiwan island, this debut feature follows themes of indigenous identity and family traditions. The dance troupe, in real life, has won national awards and has been invited to perform both nationally and internationally. (Hawaii International Film Festival)
