Transcendent

Science has created artifical human beings, the transcendants. Three tragic stories involving these pseudo-human characters show that we humans must fight to control our own destinies. A former race-car driver finds signs that his dead colleague may actually be alive; an intern hopes her love will salvage the disastrous career of a boxer; and a patient near death can only survive if a beloved transcendant dies.
