Sinopsis(1)

Universities. Mass production of people with degrees, or institutions necessary for forming well-behaved people with critical thinking ability? Open Fortress is a tribute to the 100-year-old history of Masaryk University and provides an overview of the role that it is playing today. The history of one of the greatest Czech universities and interviews with its teachers and students represent the two faces of the documentary. In its rhetorical form, it combines an interpretative and participatory approach, with the latter prevailing. The authoritative voice-over of Jiří Dvořák gives way to Ivo Bystřičan and his questions about the meaning of university traditions and the limits of freedom of the given environment of Masaryk University.
