"You can't keep yourself from loving someone just because you're afraid you're gonna lose them." - The comedy Ode to Joy may not be an epic flick, but it has an absolutely brilliant plot that made me laugh royally. Brooklyn librarian Charlie suffers from a rare condition called cataplexy, which unfortunately prevents him from forming a loving relationship. And this lies behind all the ups and downs in the main character's life, while Martin Freeman, swooning with happiness, is absolutely hilarious as Charlie. I'd also have a strong urge to free him from such a terrible curse... The stylish ending definitely deserves praise as well; the filmmakers did a really good job. (80%) ()
