Sinopsis(1)
In 1956, the Scottish Lord Glenconner, also known as Colin Tennant, bought the tiny Caribbean island of Mustique for a song. He turned the island into a refuge for the British jet set, among whom were Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Brian Ferry and Tennant’s dear friend Princess Margaret. Meanwhile, Tennant has lost both his fortune and his island. In this film, the once wealthy lord looks back on those glorious days. He comes across as unpredictable and arrogant, a snob and a racist - he calls the islanders incredibly slow and dumb -, but he is also unquestionably charming and has an equally colourful and tragic past. Small wonder that filmmakers Joseph Bullman and Vikram Jayanti did not let his swearing and diatribes prevent them from making a beautiful, astonishing and hilarious documentary.
