Sinopsis(1)
In 2003, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, one of the richest men in Russia, was arrested. This happened after he publicly criticized corruption within Putin's government. Khodorkovsky was accused of fraud connected with the privatization of state assets. He was found guilty and sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment in a penal colony. Since being pardoned in 2013, he has been an émigré in London. The director spent many hours talking to Khodorkovsky, his friends and his enemies. He creates a compelling portrait of post-Soviet Russia – a place where “nothing is true and everything is possible”. Looking at his protagonist and his struggle with Putin, he tries to show how power works in Russia. (Warsaw Film Festival)
