Sinopsis(1)

This documentary closely follows choreographer Rudi van Dantzig who is working on his ballet Geverfd fruit. Vrijman thoroughly prepared the film by having elaborate preliminary talks and by visiting rehearsals. The result is a personal vision on the world of ballet. The film describes the creative process and the hard work required to realise the ideas. Vrijman: "That was marvellous, the grappling with the material. Creating order out of chaos, which is eventually the essence of art. That struggle took place right in front of my camera, I registered the moments of despair, but also the moment when it surfaced, triumph". (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
