Welcome to Iewduh, a marketplace in northeast India, and a different, rarely seen side of Indian culture. Like Mike, through whose eyes we will come to know the market and its inhabitants, these are incredibly poor people. Many may live their entire lives in its narrow streets, beehive hovels, and vendor stands. But they are vibrant people with great empathy and dreams. They are people who care about each other. With an impeccable visual style, fluid pacing, and quiet, naturalistic acting, this film finds surprising beauty in an impoverished place. Even here, hope can flourish.
