Sinopsis(1)

The story of two journalists - German radio reporter Gisbert Mrozek and Russian reporter Natasha Aljekinova - has all the attributes of a Greek tragedy. They met while working; a professional relationship changed into a personal one during the "anti Gorbachev coup," when their lives were in danger for the first time. Their private happy ending was their wedding in Las Vegas - with the obligatory cliche "…till death do us part…" which happened soon after. On June 17, 1995, Natasha was fatally shot in the back by a Russian soldier near Budionovsko. Gisbert Mrozek did not fear the Russian bureaucratic machinery. His efforts resulted in an investigation of Natasha's death, her case being brought to court and a verdict - a first in the history of Russian journalism. (One World)
