Welcome to My World

Paul de Baeremaker is the captain of the Belgian Ipso-Euroclean cycling team. Welcome to My World follows this go-getter and self-made man during the unfortunate season 1998-1999. It all started very propitiously in the spring classics, but soon the results left more and more to be desired. And as if that were not bad enough, various members of the team were injured and the sponsors started to grumble. However, De Baeremaker did not intend to give up, and like a ‘King Lear on wheels, ‘ he gave his all to save the season. Director Manu Riche (1964) has been making television documentaries since the early nineties, both for the Flemish and the Walloon broadcasters. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
