In a relief centre for Bosnian refugees in Denmark a 77?year?old woman bakes the Bosnian 'Pita Zanljanica' bread every day. When director Katrine Nyholm came across this woman at work in the camp she was impressed by the daily ritual. There is a strong sense of strength surrounding the traditional way of baking bread. It preserves the memory of the life back home, despite the poverty and misery incident to the daily life in a refugee camp. The form of the film is simple. From a high camera standpoint, all attention is exclusively focussed on the operations preceding the baking of the bread, such as kneading and rolling out the dough.
