Tialda 15 jaar

It is December. Tialda is fifteen years old and refuses to celebrate Sinterklaas with her family this year. She cannot be cheerful, because she knows she will soon have to leave the house, anyway. She had rather spend some time with her boyfriend or other children in the Keet. In Tialda 15 jaar, we are witnesses to the final weeks prior to Tialda’s departure to Woerden. In the documentary we are introduced to Tialda‘s close environment, her family, friends, daily occupations, wishes, expectations and fears. At first sight, Tialda looks like an ordinary adolescent, but it is soon clear that her parents have relinquished custody of her. The documentary is about the mother and daughter’s sorrow and anger, power and impotence just before Tialda is expelled from the parental house. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
