Sinopsis(1)

The production workshop 1992 enabled five filmmakers to make a short documentary on the theme 'water'. In Man's Water, Thomas Aronds examines urinating habits of men in the city centre of Amsterdam and its consequences for the environment. Aquarama, by Wilma Ligthart: once upon a time there was a little girl who believed that life underwater only started after sunset. Then she discovered Aquarama, an underwater museum on a pier somewhere on the Belgian coast. In Corn for Fish by Paul Enkelaar, African tourists in Holland are surprised to find out that Europeans make thanks-offerings to the elements, too. Vincent Verweij's 37 is a road movie in the subconscious about water, birth, and the social sector. Fear of Water, by Jos Wassink: the 'great achievements' are over, past history. Holland is becoming polluted and frumpy. This film is the result of the IDFA-production workshop 1992 under supervision of Jan Vrijman, produced in cooperation with VPRO-television.
