En esta segunda entrega de uno de los grandes clásicos modernos del cine de artes marciales de Hong Kong, el legendario héroe Wong Fei Hung (Jet Li) viaja hasta Canton acompañado por su joven tía Yee y su torpe ayudante Foon para asistir a una convención médica. Al llegar a la ciudad entabla amistad con el Dr. Sun Yat Sen, padre de un movimiento secreto que pretende derrocar al Emperador e instaurar la República China. Al mismo tiempo, Fei Hung también se cruza en el camino del “Loto Blanco”, un culto religioso dispuesto a expulsar a todos los extranjeros de China y cuyo líder, Kung, posee una habilidad de combate que lo hace invencible. Atrapado en medio del conflicto entre ejército, rebeldes y fanáticos, Fei Hung deberá elegir un bando y recurrir una vez más a las artes marciales para defender a los inocentes y hacer prevalecer la justicia. I couldn't get into the film for a while, but then Jet Li and the beautiful choreography of the whole film got me. And of course, the highlight was the final showdown, which was choreographed so beautifully, with that bloody finale, that I just stared blankly and couldn't tear my eyes away. I saw this second episode first, but I can't wait to see the next one.
