Hosszú alkony

The active and also intellectually fully alert female archaeologist, able to experience old age in a harmonious way, is celebrating her most recent research result with her disciples. During a visit to her home-country, on their way back, she suddenly gets out of the car and sends her driver away. The sunlit heather fields remind her of her childhood and she walks happily off to enjoy the well-known landscape. Yet she soon gets lost and has to travel on with a shabby coach in the night. At the borderline of dream and awareness, unbelievable things happen to her. The drivers face is like the devils, she is shoved off the bus and stands in pouring rain, first over the corpse of a boy run over by a car, then waiting for the next bus to come. Two dark figures take her to a pub, where in a room for rent she recognises her childhood doll, then falls off the mouldy wooden stair-case. Here everything starts all over again, with the friendly driver, with the scene at home with her students of archaeology who celebrate her birthday, quite until she finds the same wooden stair-case as she steps out of the bathroom, where also her dreams come to an end.
