Sinopsis(1)

The documentary film Fire on the Mountain, directed by Beth & George Gage, tells the amazing and powerful story of America's only mountain and winter warfare fighting unit, the 10th Mountain Division.
Composed of an elite group of champion skiers, mountain climbers, and European mountaineers, the 10th was created by the U.S. Army to fight the Nazis and Axis troops in the high mountain passes of Europe in World War II. Following intensive training in the Colorado Rockies and elsewhere, the 10th was shipped to Italy to battle the dug-in Nazis. An intense campaign ensued, highlighted by a spectacular night climb of Italy's Riva Ridge - where the 10th scored their biggest victory against Hitler's troops.
The story of the 10th continued well after the war. These combat veterans applied their hard-learned wisdom to starting companies (Nike), creating ski areas (Veil and Aspen), and helping non-profit organizations (the Sierra Club and Outward Bound). Another inspiring story in Fire on the Mountain is their return to Riva Ridge 50 years later, where alongside once bitter enemies they re-climb the ridge in a spirit of peace and cooperation.
