Light is a good servant and master, if we keep it in balance. During the last decade, light pollution has become an issue pointed out by many experts, and similarly to many civilization sicknesses, it is people who, paradoxically by their own doing, damage (not only) their own living conditions. Here, the perspectives of universal and partial blend, from singular problems like taking a photo, we get to the systematic decimation of biological species. Scientific reports meet an ambient, metaphysical dimension, within which the final question appears—whether we as people have paid the ultimate price for looking towards the achievements of civilization and away from the night sky.
