Nae meorisogui jiugae

Nae meorisogui jiugae (2004)

The most beautiful and moving Korean film? No, this is the most beautiful and moving movie ever. A Moment to Remember perfectly captures every joy and pain behind the word "love". The lead couple are perfect for each other. The whole thing is filmed so in such a beautifully humble, real, and artless way. I don't believe there is anyone who can remain unmoved by this beautiful work. For me, perfect in every way...

Posdata: Te quiero

Posdata: Te quiero (2007)

From the first second to the last hundredth of a second I had goosebumps. Gerard Butler, who I have unfortunately not had the pleasure of encountering before, is one of the best actors of recent years. Thanks to this movie I also started endlessly adoring Hilary Swank. Her performance as Holly was incredibly sensual. She played the age difference in the parts perfectly. I cried really loudly during the scene where she's lying in bed playing the answering machine with Gerry's voice. P.S. I Love You never ceases to charm me and always makes me cry and laugh. Plus, the beautiful soundtrack makes the movie even more emotional.

Ha nacido una estrella

Ha nacido una estrella (2018)

I can't get it out of my head, I just can't. Lady Gaga's smile and movements and Bradley's lovestruck and drunken look. That moment when they stand on stage together or sit at the piano and let the music and love completely take over. The way they sing and harmonize together, and it has incredible power. if I can manage it, I don't cry when I’m in a movie theater. Here I couldn't manage it. Biggest surprise of the year so far.

Parásitos

Parásitos (2019)

The Koreans pulled this off in all aspects. The humor that accompanies the film is edgy and the viewer easily gets caught up in the internal strife. Should we hate them or love them? Should we wish them well or condemn them? Either way, I haven't seen a script this masterful in a long time. The acting was superb, the cast was every bit as good, and the soundtrack bumped the experience up a notch. 5 stars.

David Attenborough: Una vida en nuestro planeta

David Attenborough: Una vida en nuestro planeta (2020)

Basically the most meaningful and important piece of cinema I've ever seen. If I were David, I would be proud of myself and my time on this planet. I can't think of another documentary that I would recommend to the entire world.

Cafarnaúm

Cafarnaúm (2018)

Oh Zain, you broke my heart. With your innocence, maturity, and perseverance. And no one taught you that. The direction, the cinematography, the acting, the believability of the story, everything is pitched just right and in such a way that it moves you and at the same time "rips you to shreds". I can't remember the last time a film hit me so emotionally and uncontrollably. I don't think it's happened in the past year. I can't think of a better way to comment on something so fragile. My hat is off to Nadine for the way she was able to grapple with such content, it must have hurt terribly. 5 stars.

Wanbyeokhan tain

Wanbyeokhan tain (2018)

Even though Intimate Strangers is an almost exact copy of the Italian source material, and thus I had an idea how the plot would unfold and who would end up how, I managed to enjoy the movie as if I hadn't seen the original. I liked the Italian version a lot, but the Koreans took it up a notch in my opinion. At times I had the urge to wish they wouldn't answer the phone that they wouldn't read the message, that they'd get the damn game over with, but I knew this was just the beginning. I don't know what it says about me, but I just love the subject matter. And the ending gave me goosebumps.

Un día inesperado

Un día inesperado (2004)

I can't get enough of this, and I've probably never cried as much at a movie as I did at this one. The beautiful words are still ringing in my head. A film that got deep under my skin.

Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman (1990)

I love movies with Julia Roberts and I'm even happier when Richard Gere is by her side. A timeless romance that never gets old. It's the "Vuitton" of movies... it lasts for years, everyone loves it and tries to emulate it... in vain. There's only ever one original. Perfect music, script, and style. A film that entertains, makes you cry, and makes you hot... the best!
