Bunyan and Babe (2017)

inglés The movie has a classic development and essentially has nothing to surprise. The character of Paul Bunyan is well charismatic, thanks to John Goodman's voice acting, but even that alone is not enough to move the film forward. A little boy saves all the poor people from a big economic monster. There is nothing more to it.

Schulmädchen-Report 4: Was Eltern oft verzweifeln lässt (1972)

inglés Compared to the previous episodes, this fourth one doesn't have much new to offer. It's just more of watching schoolgirls, I mean adults, having sex and enjoying it, sometimes to have power over men, sometimes just because they enjoy doing it. This series hasn't been very bold so far, which is a shame.

Adult Life Skills (2016)

inglés I realize that I actually quite like these movies with peculiar characters precisely because the characters are portrayed so well by the actors, albeit peculiar. Jodie Whittaker plays such a peculiar woman that you'll either admire her or not find her entertaining at all. I quite liked the overall peculiarity, but in a somewhat human way, of this film.

The Traveling Executioner (1970)

inglés An interesting film about a guy traveling with an electric chair, trying to improve everyone's end a little, that final mile before death by electric current. The film contains something bizarre yet inherently beautiful, as Stacy Keach demonstrates his mastery in the final part of the film, which is well-executed.

La furia de Tarzán (1952)

inglés This is my farewell to Lex Barker as Tarzan, as his fifth film was the first one I saw. It's kind of an average farewell, a bit awkward, but with a fairly good antagonist. The constant shots of Cheetah have long become tiresome, and one wonders if it's actually a children's movie.

Kong: La isla calavera (2017)

inglés I really love kaiju films, so I'm heavily influenced, but I had a great time watching Kong: Skull Island! Kong is excellent here, the effects are stunning, there are great monsters and incredible action scenes, and there are also interesting characters. Simply a thrilling spectacle for the movie theater. And to top it off, that fantastic poster with the green signal smoke!

The Race (2009)

inglés A nice family film that doesn't have any surprising plot developments, but is simply shot to be audience-friendly, with some intense emotional moments that help you connect with the characters. But it works mainly because of the children. Good, not exceptional, but simply nice.

El rey del Once (2016)

inglés If one is Argentinian, one will probably appreciate the film more. Plus, if one is an Argentine Jew, they might actually enjoy it. Since this religion, like any other, doesn't mean much to me, I couldn't fully empathize with the characters and what motivates them. It's not badly made, but the story just didn't grab me.

Schulmädchen-Report 2: Was Eltern den Schlaf raubt (1971)

inglés Compared to the first film, this one is a bit harsher, but only in the sense that there's implied rape, although not explicitly presented, and also because there's blackmailing of a teacher by students right from the start. One can't be too surprised. Who could hold back in his position...

The Plainsman (1966)

inglés A bad western. Yes, those exist, and this is an example of it. Stupid. Not naive, but just stupid. There are characters who are supposed to be legendary, but they're just presented as normal people, they have no charisma, and it doesn't matter if they're male or female. Fortunately, I won't remember this for too long.
