El último duelo (2021)

inglés Very narrowly focused narrative, concentrating on details and gradually building up the image of the main characters of the story. Interestingly presented, very good sound design and direction. On the other hand, I felt a strong lack of scenic variety and general diversity. The sequence of events was predictable as time went on, and despite the original perspective, the film didn't offer anything all that surprising.

A Life in Waves (2017)

inglés A unique glimpse into the world of a major musical innovator who, throughout her career, chose to take a path of unconventional approach, exploration and sonic experimentation. Despite being largely unappreciated in her youth, when her work was widely rejected in the 1970s because global record companies had no idea what a synthesizer was, Suzanne was not discouraged and continued to follow her own directions, which naturally defined her signature style. She was one of the few to push the boundaries of electronic music to the current level. An inspiring story in a perfect cinematic treatment.

Tripping with Nils Frahm (2020)

inglés Nils Frahm is a modern-day musical genius whose work captivates not only with his distinctive handwriting and incredible genre diversity, but also with his impeccable and flawless live performance. I'm delighted that this range of exceptional skills has been captured here so accurately and appropriately. The cinematography and editing complement each other in perfect harmony. The final mix must also be highlighted, Zino Mikorey and his luxurious mastering sounds absolutely sensational on large speakers! A real treat.

La milla verde (1999)

inglés A film that will lead you to deep questions and literally unravel your emotional depth. From the unique beauty of the human character to the bitterness of injustice and the ticking hands on the clock that represent the greatest existential fear ever.

Tenet (2020)

inglés In many ways reminiscent of the blockbuster space-time series Dark, which wrapped up its third and final season this year. Nolan, however, has again taken a completely different approach to the perception of time, and traditionally shows the viewer not a shred of sympathy in the telling of his complexly intricate, but perfectly crafted story. This time, to my surprise, he was not afraid to add more action scenes and more challenging stunts. In short, Tenet is another precise screenwriting treat with a vibrant score by Zimmer scholar Ludwig Göransson. Epic camera shots with fascinating, natural non-green screen effects that are a joy to behold.

A Question of Faith (2017)

inglés The story was interesting and inspiring, but the production and the quality of the dialogue took away a lot from its value. Such a cool Christian sub-average.

Como Flechas (2018)

inglés A film about the true nature of marriage and the foundation of complete and above all healthy family relationships. From engagement to grandchildren, the story fantastically tells the reality of our growth both in our partners and in ourselves. It encourages reflection and setting those really important priorities. ~ You can't run around living life one day at a time. You have to know where you're going, and then lead. ~

The Half of It (2020)

inglés Quite an unusual psychological drama with younger cast. Finally, Netflix has taken a slightly more adventurous route, both in script and style. I was pleasantly surprised by the film's relative relationship and faith versatility (I was expecting classic LGBT propaganda), as well as the performances. It does a pretty good job of conveying the perspective of high school life and a man trying to understand not only his surroundings but more importantly himself. Anyway, after thinking about it for a while, nothing in particular tempts me to pick this up as a higher than average film. But it is quite possible that I will change my mind in time.

Una entrevista con Dios (2018)

inglés The title of the film fits the form and style of the story strangely well. The dialogues themselves are particularly interesting with countless questions that raise a carousel of further follow-up questions. However, upon brief reflection, this illustrates quite well the mood of the Bible, in which God very regularly uses the tool of questions to convey informational value. It is a bit of a pity that the main character's reactions are overcomplicated and quite often illogical. David Strathairn as God didn't quite fit and the story's treatment of the dialogue within the interviews is actually very poor and has no internal continuity. I'll leave the film unrated for now but for psychological enthusiasts it's definitely worth a watch.
