Deuce Bigalow: Gigoló europeo (2005)

inglés Hm... A good movie if – while watching it you wrap presents under the tree, have breakfast, do the dishes, annoy your dad, find some stale coffee, and check out your sister watching Pokémon – and the plot doesn't get away from you, you'll still be able to navigate it and retell it to your friends (if there was that much interest). So it's a good backdrop, but if I were to just focus on the movie, I'd probably get stung by boredom every now and then...

WALL-E: Batallón de limpieza (2008)

inglés I have to admit that the beginning was literally torture for me... so boring! But then we were transported aboard a ship with overweight... well, fat people. And that's where the movie kind of started for me. I most enjoyed sitting with the captain and his amazement. "What's a ball? What's a dance?" plus his first steps and the music.... this was just divine! :-) The ending is clear, Wall-E and the tough Eve end up together... "Children, you will grow plants of all kinds... pizza plants!" XoD this ending wasn't bad :-)

Inuyasha - la Película: La batalla a traves del tiempo (2001)

inglés It had its strong moments and its weak points... but since Sesshōmaru was given so little space, I can't help but give it 3 stars. However, I believe his time will come, just as I believe the time will come when the two "pathetic fools" will declare their love :-) Yeah, yeah, I'm not waiting for anything else, so who's the "pathetic" one here? :-) It's definitely something of a must read for fans of the series. So I've seen it... :-D

Death Note (2006) (serie)

inglés [SPOILER] The beginning? Awesome. Light and the "Shimigami" are both fine. What about L? An absolutely perfect character that I instantly liked. Except that Light suddenly started to lose appeal with me, which reached its peak with the death of L. Without him, it was already empty for me. Boring. The end of a series is supposed to build, not fall. But other than that, of course, it's a better 3 stars :-)

D.N. Angel (2003) (serie)

inglés Excellent anime with twenty-six episodes. I could easily watch from the beginning to end over and over again if I wasn't occupied by other anime that my eye hasn't seen yet :-) Strong story, if you let the magic work and absorb the ending (assuming, of course, that you've enjoyed all the previous episodes) ... Yes, it's clear where Daisuke will land, but why not stay tense until the end? Why not worry about him and Dark? When you can, and so beautifully... :-) I really don't know what won me over with this anime, but it's clear that it did. Just magic! =o)

Crepúsculo (2008)

inglés Those who have read the book will be happy, they will get everything, they will say: "Yay", they'll love the characters right away. But those who haven't? Oh, it will be very hard to digest – I suppose. I was debating whether to give it 3 or 4 stars, but in the end it was 3. Why? It might sound a bit presumptuous, but it could have been made into a better movie, I could have done it... Yikes, a bit pretentious, I get it :-D But seriously, it just didn't leave anything in me, I was even bored in some parts and there was so much that could have been said! I just found it unfinished... At least I started listening to Linkin Park again, that's good :-)

Los siete samuráis (1954)

inglés Even though I'd been interested in Kikuchiya for a long time, even though it entertained me and made me laugh, it was too long... Yes, it's a legendary film that a lot of directors have taken their cue from. It's typically Japanese, those who don't know a bit of the Japanese mentality may be surprised by many things (the film remains misunderstood in many aspects); it flows slowly, it flows gradually, it flows with the seasons. And apparently it's a must for anyone who wants to get to know Kurasawa-sama a little :-) But let's not kid ourselves, the running time is just overlong... :-D

American History X (1998)

inglés Strange, but I suspected it was coming to exactly that ending – the ending of the movie, that is. For me, the story doesn't end. I'll still be caught up in imagining what came next. How this last event played out in the lives of these "fictional" people. And I regret it; the foolishness, the ignorance, the rudeness, the hatred, the understanding, the leader, the indelible mark. What a strange picture. It's just that my heart isn't beating enough for it to get 5 stars.

Blade Runner (1982)

inglés I said to myself: "Don't turn it on. You're up early tomorrow. Can’t you hear school calling? You need to get some sleep. It's nine o'clock. If you press play, you won't turn off the computer until eleven. Hardly a full night's sleep! So be a good girl and turn it off." I replied to my schizophrenic self: "Okay," and pressed play. Often when I go to bed with a head full of questions, I wake up refreshed in the morning. What is it, I wonder? Tomorrow – and I know this for a fact – I will be rested. For I've had a few bugs planted in my head. I'll lie in bed with my eyes closed and reflect on what a wondrous world I've visited. I ask myself: "Their world was so artificial that it seemed the only living creature on the planet was human. What was left there for such a person?" And my other self answers pointedly: "Feelings. Emotions." Then I run my fingers over my temples. "Maybe that's why they wanted to kill the replicants. That even the last real thing they had was appropriated by organometallic compounds, if I put it that way." I fall asleep thinking about that dark and rainy world. Weird. I still don't understand what’s making me give the movie 4 stars. I'm confused – I feel nothing. Just neurons transmitting impulses. Maybe it's because Blade Runner gave me inspiration. It gives me something to dream about, think about, and write about (and damn do I love doing that!). Still; it was so morose...

Santa's Slay (2005)

inglés If you want to see a movie that will spoil your mood with its childishness, this is the one. If you like half-dressed dudes in tight red costumes beating everyone around, yes, you're on the right track there too. If you like awfully smart guys who have trouble in the field of love, in the question of "to believe in Santa or not?", you've found the movie for you. Luckily a crazy old man's a sure thing! Poor Claire...
