Ipcress (1965)

inglés So: It's a spy film. A British spy film. Starring Michael Caine, music by John Barry... Could it have gone wrong at all? Looking at director Furie's filmography, in theory, yes. But luckily I saw a top-notch film that I was excited about. Cain's performance, especially in the last third of the film, is absolutely amazing.

Asesinato en 8mm (1999)

inglés For Joel Schumacher and all the actors (Cage, Phoenix, Gandolfini, Stormare), 8MM means this: it is one of their best films. Comparable to Fincher’s Se7en. Splendidly dark stuff.

Fanboys (2009)

inglés I laughed less than I expected, but I laughed, which is a pretty important thing in a comedy. Have you really properly watched Star Wars - the original episodes? If so, definitely give Fanboys a watch. And have fun. You'll be delighted with the references to these films (not just quoting lines, but entire scenes - the visit to the pub, for example), cameo appearances by "Lando Calrissian" and "Princess Leia" and others (where the hell is Mark Hamill?), skirmishes with Star Trek fans (William "Kirk" Shatner also appears)... There's quite a lot, but there could still be more. The Millennium Falcon "van" is a great ride, Lucas' ranch is awesome (I'd break in there in a heartbeat) and the gem of it all was the final catchphrase. Above average.

Alerta Cobra (1996) (serie)

inglés I'm only reviewing the seasons where Semir is not yet a "little Turkish terminator" and he has André Fuchs as a partner – the most likeable tough guy of all. As time went on, the Germans started to make better and more polished car crashes, which were nice to look at, but the series went downhill.

El mañana nunca muere (1997)

inglés Just as good a Bond film as Golden Eye. The writers have come up with a quite interesting media plot, director Spottiswoode does an above-average job (not only by his standards), especially in the action escapades, Michelle Yeoh is perfect, and Jonathan Pryce can boldly rank among the really great villains. The "motorcycle-car-copter-clothesline" scene is (after Bond's tank ride in Goldeneye) probably the most imaginative moment in the Brosnan Bond films.

Paycheck (2003)

inglés Philip Kindred is spinning in his grave again and unfortunately it's my beloved Joh Woo's fault. Two scenes stuck in my mind from the film - the skillfully filmed motorcycle and car chase, which is really action-packed and "Woo-ish", although not very original and not very imaginative (the driving through containers and pipes was a pleasure, though) and the final showdown in the "greenhouse". Otherwise, it was boring, boring, grey, grey... Next with Nicolas Cage was better, though not by much.

El mundo nunca es suficiente (1999)

inglés Denise Richards and Sophie Marceau are quite possibly the best (meaning: best + add any flattery you want) Bond girls of them all. In this film, they reunite with Brosnan, who, more than ever, gives a flashback to the days of Connery's charm and Moore's wisecracking. In addition, John Cleese appears as R, to whom Q hands over the token toy scepter, Carlyle is interestingly slimy as the villain, and the action is pretty decent. The best scenes, however, come at the beginning of the film (the boat chase, the ski chase) and the ending in the submarine is a bit of a letdown - uninteresting.

La isla de Nim (2008)

inglés I've been known to act like a little kid sometimes (what man doesn't, right?), which is why I loved Nim's Island so incredibly much. Sure, the story is predictable from the start, but who cares? For an hour and a half I watched an originally-filmed spectacle (the wonderfully animated prologue, the writing and reading of emails, the scene where Nim reads a book in bed - in the desert - while the badass Rover next to her beats the bandits senseless...) with great music by Patrick Doyle, a funny Jodie Foster overcoming her phobia, Abigail Breslin, who tears us up when she cries, and Gerard Butler, who plays two heroes - the real one and the book one. Just great!

Fear Factor (2001) (programa) ¡Boo!

inglés I saw part of this creation today "thanks" to my colleagues from work… unbelievable crap. Competitions of this type have always disgusted me and will continue to disgust me. It's terrible what people will do for money. For me, Fear Factor is comparable to shit like Big Brother.

La huella (1972)

inglés A film built on a seemingly simple plot made memorable and riveting by the two Actors (yes, the capital A is there on purpose). It was strange to watch how during the film my sympathies moved from one gentleman to another, then back again and a few more times around, so that in the end I didn't know who I was cheering for: Okay, it's a tie, you were both great.
