Trade (2007)

inglés Watching Trade is like opening a birthday candy jar and discovering that someone ate all the nougats out of it, leaving only the peanut candy you're allergic to. It's very well made, Kevin Kline is surprisingly civil and believable, but all the supporting characters act like someone took their brains out of their heads and threw up in there. I think even Police Academy: Mission to Moscow doesn’t have that many morons in one film. Massive missed opportunity. Hopefully Marco Kreuzpaintner will get lucky with a better script next time. He's got a lot of talent as a director, but he can't waste it in films this stupidly written,

Sentencia de muerte (2007)

inglés Kevin Bacon is a stud and he's good with a shotgun. James Wan once again revels in dark camera filters, and the whole thing is nicely straightforward and devoid of all unnecessary bullshit about morality. A simple but perfectly effective film that offers exactly what is expected of it.

Pelotas en juego (2007)

inglés Nothing to write home about. Christopher Walken is great and half the jokes are really good, but Dan Fogler is annoying from start to finish and the other half of the jokes suck. It could have been much better, but for an hour and a half of unpretentious fun, it's pretty good.

La última legión (2007)

inglés Bad. The low budget shows more than it should, and the actors all look like they were there by mistake. The director can't compose action scenes, the writers can't write normal dialogue, and the whole thing is too cheap and stupid to even be taken seriously. But the makers of The Last Legion clearly didn't understand that.

Sicko (2007)

inglés A little bit weaker three stars. This time Michael Moore chose a topic that the average Central European is undoubtedly much less interested in than George Bush. Plus, it's not nearly as funny as his previous films, but it's still a decent documentary.

Supersalidos (2007)

inglés It is not gratuitously vulgar, it is funny as hell and affably sensitive at the end. An excellent script that isn't afraid to go for the absurd at times, but mostly keeps it pretty real and believable. The film has well written and acted characters and it’s generally a terrible pleasure to watch. I'm looking forward to giving this one a second go. Much more entertaining than Knocked Up for me personally.

En algún lugar de la memoria (2007)

inglés More like 3 and 1/2 stars. For the first hour, Mike Binder kind of stumbles around, making you like characters he doesn't really say anything about. Fortunately, things take a bit of a turn towards the end and the emotions really come out. Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler's performances are flawless, but if the film had a little faster pace and pushed the emotions a little more, it would have definitely been better.

28 semanas después (2007)

inglés An incredibly stupid script in which all the members of the army behave like morons. Fortunately, the director saves what he can. But it could have been MUCH better.

Evening (2007)

inglés I guess I'm too young for movies about old people dying. A HORRIBLY long, predictable and boring film. Decently made and quite well acted, but I don't want to see it a second time.

La sombra del reino (2007)

inglés Total satisfaction. Peter Berg serves up an interesting story that looks at the issues of the Western and Arab worlds in a quite clever way. Visually, the film is top notch from the first to the last second, Jamie Foxx is superb, and the final action set-piece is something that makes you want to take cover from bullets. I can't wait to see it again.
