Sinopsis(1)

In 2017 the world learned of the discovery of a new type of gibbon, a close relative of man. It was given a name from the Star Wars lore – Skywalker. But the fear for its survival soon soured the joyous news. There is only a handful of Skywalkers on the border of China and Myanmar, and they are so scattered in the hills that they cannot find each other. The limited options often drive the gibbons to solutions with unfortunate genetic consequences. A team of researchers decided not to give up and found a way for two lonely gibbons to communicate from afar – they made them their own dating app. But an act like this poses an important dilemma – should scientists interfere with nature’s intentions? inglés This documentary about rare gibbons and their (complicated) dating could also be transferred to the world of people who make extensive use of technology for dating, who feel lonely and are waiting for the right one, as the creators themselves point out. I was intrigued by the idea of creating an animal dating service that could help species from extinction and, for example, prevent (dangerous) inbreeding in gibbons. The film raises the obvious question of the extent to which the natural course of nature can be interfered with, thereby affecting the life of animal species (for their own good?). Thus, to the sound of classical music, you travel to the remote Burmese rainforest for fifty minutes and have the opportunity to follow the conscientious efforts of scientists to save the "stars of the gibbons".
