Today’s nomadic lifestyle is called couchsurfing – travelling from one couch to another and from one culture to another. And with this comes a question that is posed all around the world today: what does globalisation mean? Our journey begins in Berlin and stops off at a Tuareg music festival in Mali. We visit the centre of couchsurfing in San Francisco and continue on to Japan and the West Bank, where we get some very personal insights into a conflict zone. Finally we reach Turkey where we meet a Brazilian dancer. Through this we get to know not only a foreign culture but also our own. And in the end there is the wonderful realisation that having guests is good but it is good to be a guest too. (DOK.fest München)
