A young girl is accidentally run down by a car driven by a careless city slicker. This careless injustice provokes the girl's grandfather into summoning his mystical powers and placing a death curse on the young man. For me, the American film Dark August is one of those films that makes it worth it to discover horror movies and look for those that are not as well known, or that have even fallen into obscurity and maybe not even survived in good quality. Films like this have a very interesting retro style, but they are also films that really try to tell a horror story and are also quite original.
