Nice, cute, and simply lovely for its time. John Wayne isn't yet the tough guy he would later become, but even as a romantic hero, he's quite good, especially when the whole film is light-hearted. It's enjoyable to watch, and since it's relatively short, it holds up quite well even today when people don't often watch black-and-white films.
