The Slovak retirement home hosts former stars such as Nataša Gollová or Zita Kabátová, and Blanka Waleská or Eva Svobodová in the second lineup. What the women are doing is absolutely pathetic. Gollová plays the madwoman, as she did so many times in her post-1945 career, and keeps a chicken as her pet. Kabátová looks the best out of all of them, which doesn’t matter, and her leitmotif is waiting for her son. Waleská is a suspected hysterical lesbian, and Svobodová is doing her usual extras role. I have to ask the basic question on everyone’s mind: Why?
