Madeleine Beudet es muy infeliz en su matrimonio burgués con Monsieur Beudet. Escapa de la realidad tocando el piano. Un día, su marido recibe entradas para ver Fausto, pero Madame Beudet se niega a ir con él. Sola en la casa familiar, con el piano cerrado por Monsieur Beudet, intenta evadirse de la realidad con la ayuda de su imaginación, pero las reminiscencias de su marido se lo impiden y es entonces cuando ese deseo de evasión se convierte en un deseo de asesinato. A very specific film that I think will not provoke any outrage with its feminist approach, on the contrary, it has great potential to captivate with its dreamy concept. There are still elements here that can inspire the modern viewer, especially in terms of how the scenes are conceived and filmed. If I'm not mistaken, she is also one of the first female directors to be recognized to the extent that her film appears in the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. The story itself may not be thrilling, but the concept of the scenes is excellent.
