A dark Heimatfilm with a rough lakeside as a backdrop, in an attempt to portray collaboration and collective guilt. It was made (just like Spielbank-Affäre, 1957) as a "secret" coproduction between the two German states, with Sweden acting as an officially neutral membrane. (Locarno Festival)
